Privacy Policy

Wells Workshop is a small hardware shop run by Wells Riley. This policy explains what information the shop collects, why, and how it is handled. In short: only what is needed to take and ship an order, plus anonymous daily page-view totals; nothing is sold or shared for advertising. It also covers featherframe.app and the Featherframe cloud, which Wells Riley runs too.

Information collected

• Order & shipping details — your name, email, shipping address, and the items you bought. This is collected when you check out so the order can be fulfilled.
• Payment information — card and billing details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout. The shop never sees or stores your full card number; Stripe processes the payment and shares only what is needed to fulfill the order (name and address).
• Cart data — the items in your cart are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage). They never leave your device until you check out.
• Page views — most pages on shop.wells.ee and wells.ee send the shop an anonymous note when they load: the page's path (without any query string) and where the visit came from (the site that linked to it, or a tag in the link, such as a YouTube video's). Pressing Add to cart or Pre-order sends the same kind of note for that product. These are added to daily totals, to see which pages and links bring visitors and orders; no cookie, IP address or anything else that identifies you is part of them. While the tab is open, your browser keeps the visit's source and whether a product has been viewed or a buy button pressed (sessionStorage). If you place an order, its source is recorded with the order's other details and sent to Stripe with it.
• Waitlist — if you join a waitlist, here or on featherframe.app, your email address and any answers you give (size, gift). It is used only to email you about that sale, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Theme preference — your light, dark or auto choice is saved in a cookie shared by shop.wells.ee and wells.ee.

featherframe.app

featherframe.app is Featherframe's own site. It sets no cookies and runs no ads. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no identifiers that follow you from site to site; Cloudflare adds its script to the page. It remembers whether you last looked at the grayscale or color frame in your own browser (localStorage).

Its waitlist form sends your email address to the shop's waitlist (above).

The Featherframe cloud

Every Featherframe comes with a free cloud service at app.featherframe.app. It holds:

• your account's email address, and the sign-in links sent to it through Resend;
• your household's frame settings and your frames' check-ins;
• the species your frames have shown;
• if you add one, your own API key for an image-generation service (OpenAI, Gemini or Replicate). It is used only to make the illustrations you ask for, and is sent only to that service.

It runs on Cloudflare, and nothing in it is sold or shared. The frame itself has no camera and no microphone.

What the shop does not do

• Personal information is never sold, rented, or traded.
• No advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels are used.
• No marketing email is sent unless you explicitly ask to be added to a list.

Who processes your data

A few trusted services help run the shop:

• Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention.
• Cloudflare — hosting for this site, featherframe.app and the Featherframe cloud, and storage of order records and the waitlist.
• Resend — sending order and waitlist emails, and Featherframe's sign-in emails.
• Shipping carriers — to deliver your order.

Each only receives the information needed to do its job.

Links to other sites & affiliate links

Some product pages link out to third-party retailers for parts you supply yourself. Some of those — including Amazon — are affiliate links, meaning the shop may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Once you follow an outbound link, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.

Your choices

To access, correct, or delete the personal information tied to your orders or your Featherframe account, email shop@wells.ee. Order records are kept only as long as needed for fulfillment, support, and tax/accounting obligations.
